  • Plastic Popsicles

For this photography project, I wanted to work with an object that was already loaded with meaning and nostalgia. For this I chose a popsicle for it’s attachment to childhood and summer, and a plastic glove with it’s correlation to medical practice and protection. With these objects I created a series of fifteen images of popsicles. Each popsicle was photographed on brightly colored backgrounds to experiment with the way that digital processes would capture these colors. Through this process it was interesting to see that the same background would differ in its hue and intensity depending on the popsicle color that it was shot behind. The final images were printed as large 30” x 30” prints.
